Overview

The Network Time Protocol timestamp is a count of the number of seconds since 1 January 1900 CE. It can be displayed in both decimal and hexadecimal.

NTP can only store 32-bit numbers and will roll over back to 0 on 7 February 2036 at 6:28:16 UTC+0, also known as the Year 2036 Problem.

Accuracy

This calculation is a simple algorithm based on Unix time, and is thus exactly accurate.
